Rounder Records Cambridge, MA Project: 37 Units Multi-Family Residential Development Client: Davis Square Architects/Oaktree Development/Urban Spaces Challenges and Opportunities: DZI provided the site planning, civil engineering and landscape architectural services for this new project located on Mass Ave. in Cambridge. DZI is working with the client and DSA to provide a site design that compliments the sustainable goals and LEED certifiable criteria of this project. DZI has worked to create a site plan that embraces this transit oriented community by creating a pedestrian circulation around the entire site and by working with the architect to create underground parking. Allowing pedestrians to easily access nearby public transportation and bicyclist to access the nearby North Cambridge bike path. The site plan also creates an urban plaza space which will contain drought tolerant plantings, bike racks; plant trellises as well a plaza space for passive recreation. This space connects to an existing Cambridge park. DZI worked closely with the City of Cambridge engineering department and DPW to upgrade the water and sewer service on site as well as provide updated drainage.
