30 Haven Street Reading, MA Project: 50 Units Multi-Family Residential Development Client: Oaktree Development/Urban Spaces Challenges and Opportunities: DZI provided the site planning, civil engineering and landscape architectural and permitting services for this new mixed use community in Reading The projects scope is the rebuilding of a block of buildings. The development will be a mixed use of housing, retail and dining. DZI worked closely with the town engineer to provide updated utility and drainage design for the site that embraced the projects overall sustainable vision. Since the projects sits in between two town streets DZI has been providing streetscape design services as well as engineering upgrade designs to adjacent town streets and parking lots. The project embraces a sustainable vision with its close proximity to the commuter rail and its use of rainwater to irrigate newly planted trees in the town’s parking lot. The project is expected to be LEED certifiable by its completion.
