The Landmark School Pride's Crossing, MA Project: Athletic Center Client: The Landmark School Architect: Sgarzi Associates Challenges and Opportunities: The Landmark School’s mission is to enable and empower students with language-based learning disabilities to realize their educational and social potential through an exemplary school program complemented by outreach and training, diagnosis, and research. Our team has been providing master planning and design services to both campuses for over 10 years to reorganize and expand their $30M vision consisting of Performing Arts Center, Athletic Complex, Learning Centers, Athletic fields, Parking and Pedestrian Access. This tight campus is riddled with ledge outcroppings, steep terrain borders on wetlands with restricted access. The completion of this athletic centers marks the culmination and cornerstone of the master planning efforts. The site located in a residential neighborhood presented challenges such as bulk and dimension concerns, bus and fire access as well pedestrian access to the rest of the campus. DZI provided state and local permitting on a very expedited schedule. Our team has provided fundraising assistance working closely with the facilities department providing expertise and support to allow their Board to move ahead successfully.
