James J. DeVellis, P.E.
Mr. DeVellis has provided municipal, residential, corporate, institutional, industrial and retail clients civil engineering and site planning services since 1988. His wide range of design, permitting and construction administration skills is demonstrated through his client’s success.
Beginning his engineering career as a Pease Corps volunteer in Kenya Africa, Mr. DeVellis understands the importance of team work, sustainability and the benefits of working closely with the groups that he represents. Having this understanding and commitment as DeVellis Zrein provides a balance of civil engineering and landscape architectural services for each project is why clients return with their next project.
Some of Mr. DeVellis’ most impressive work has been in bringing projects with delicate development issues successfully through local, state and federal permitting agencies. His skilled facilitation with local neighborhood groups has expedited the approval process for clients across New England.
Mr. DeVellis has also been called upon on numerous occasions for his expertise in the field and has written articles and/or had featured projects in Civil Engineering Magazine, Engineering Times, Banker and Tradesman, the Boston Business Journal, and the New England Real Estate Journal.
As a small business owner and as a family with three young children, Mr. DeVellis believes in giving back to his community. Coaching town lacrosse and basketball has been his passion for many years. As Town Selectman and past Chairman of Foxborough’s Advisory/Finance Committee, Mr . DeVellis’ works with department heads to solve problems, address budgets and assist his town to positively move forward strengthens his understanding of all sides of business and development and provides insight to further assist his clients. Mr. DeVellis is also founder and president of a non-profit grass roots organization TurfsUp, Inc., to enhance community sports in his town.
