Bloomfield Garden Boston, MA Project: Design of a 27 unit Multi-family housing development Client: Davis Square Architects/ Vietnamese-American Initiative for Development, Inc. Challenges and Opportunities: DZI provided the site design of this smart growth development in an established and dense Boston neighborhood on a small vacant lot. Integrate pedestrian site connections to City sidewalks and ultimately to Mass transit available in nearby Fields Corners. DZI worked in conjunction with DSA and the Client to permit the project through the City of Boston, BWSC and the Boston Tree Warden. Features include residentially scaled planted open spaces to tie into surrounding neighborhoods scale while utilizing drought tolerant plantings and seed blends. This project will be LEED-Silver certifiable upon completion.
